a 2.8 pound puppy.
His skin rash turned out to be just poor hygiene from breeders and doctor said use Sea Breeze, Sea Breeze is doing nothing and he is itchy! I have childrens Benadryl (doctor also said Benadryl) and 12.5 mg is one teaspoon dosage for a 6 year old child.
Can anyone figure this answer for me? I have been giving him 1-2 very small drops but thats really not working either. Im not sure Im giving him enough.
Thanks in advance.|||Hi, it's me. The Benadryl cream is iffy for the reasons you yourself gave and Toby might decide to lick it off. If you get the Infant/Children's Benadryl liquid, the dosing is 0.5mg per lb. or 1.25mg/kg. A kilo is 2.2 lbs. Toby is 2.8 so you could give him 1.5mg. If the dropper doesn't let you measure by milligrams, let me know and I'll calculate what 1.5mg is in millilters.|||i don't want to say a number and be wrong so the best thing to do is call your vet so you don't end up giving him the wrong dosage and making him sick. Be careful when giving dogs over the counter medication. Good luck.|||He's pretty small. Better to give too little than too much! Have you considered buying the baby version of benedryl. They have the doses based on weight on the package. OR you can buy Benedryl topical cream. Then you only treat the area affected. It is usually found in the first aid isle.|||according to my medical book children age 2-6 6.25 mg every 4 hours. you can look it up yourself@bisitBantam's websight@www.bantamdell.com
