What causes a blistered rash onthe buttocks?

When scratched, pieces of skin peel away, exposing slightly burning/irritated skin. It has continued for the last 5 or 6 days. It started with dry skin patches at the top of both buttocks. Due to scratching duringmy sleep, it has progressed further down my buttocks on both sides. I've tried using a moisturizing lotion and also Prickly Heat powder. Neither seem to have any positive effect.|||Yeast infection or fungus infection (or poison ivy or herpes as the other person above just said)....also MRSA makes tiny blisters...that is a serious staph infection...see a doctor...you could try an antifungal ointment first...or a diaper rash cream with zinc in it.. (zinc helps healing..)|||I hope that u go to the doctors to see if they have a remedy or some antibotics for that and get that taken care of.|||Definately see a doctor. You could get a secondary infection if you've got open sores.|||That sounds almost like herpes lesions or poison ivy. Usually, herpes Zoster (shingles) occur in people with weaker immune systems...like under a lot of stress. usually shingles is only on one side of the body in a specific area but I have seem it spread. Either one of these two rashes can spread so keep your hands washed very well, especially after the bathroom and when washing the area. You really need to have this checked out, if it is a herpes virus there are some meds that can really help.|||You may have 'shingles' ... which can come if you have ever had Chicken Pox ... and since 'shingles' are SERIOUS I would see my doctor about the 'rash' you are experiencing, so he can give you the 'proper medication' ... I could be 'wrong' but think that the POSSIBILITY is 'bad enough' that you do need to 'talk to your doctor' about your 'rash' ...
