I live in a house of 5, a housemate has been with us 2 weeks and diagnosed with syphilis, should we worry?

This housemate has told us that he has been with a prostitute about two months ago. Just a week ago he complained about a skin rash on both of his legs and it hurt, he couldn't walk or scratch it. One night he fainted trying to go to the toilet. He was diagnosed just today at the hospital. Should the rest of us in the house worry about this? Should we all visit a doctor?|||did you all have sex with him?|||Only if you had sex with him.|||As long as you haven't been having sex with him you should be ok....Its always best to get checked out just in case though. I feel like its better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck. and I hope your room mate is going to be ok.|||Only if you had sex with him or have had sex with someone who has had sex with him|||it's transmmited basically by sexual contact. no need to worry. but you guys should learn to use condoms.|||Syphilis is an infection that is usually acquired through sexual contact with another infected person. Syphilis can be frightening because if it goes untreated, it can lead to serious health problems and increase a person's risk for HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS. Here is an excellent, easy to read site to help: http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infecti...|||It is normally passed from sexual contact as it is a fragile disease out of the body the below link will give you plenty of information...
