Serious skin problems?

Please help me!

My body is very effected with some sort of disease?

My hands and feet have some allergic reaction and are swelled up.

And the rest of my body has this rash which makes my body look red and non-stop scratching.

And I have not got bitten by anything or animal of any sort.

Please give me some advice on the disease and how to stop it.|||It must be something u ate. Stuffs that werent allergic earlier could have an opposite reaction.

In the case of allergy, if u stop having whatever is causing u the allergy, in a few days time it should subsidise, as what ever u ate earlier would pass out as stools leaving no trace in ur body of whatever is causing u allergy.Allergies could be fatal, figure out when u eat what, does the allergic reaction start, usually allergic reaction would start once the food is taken, that is within 10min - 2 hours,

make a note of what u ate. Like i have milk allergy, i didnt know until i realised i was having something that my body didnt like, slowly started chking food stuffs one by one and later figured out diary products arent for me.

Swelling is another sign of Kidney trouble, drink plenty of water,

i just found this article , something similar to ur problem

http://www.steadyhealth.com/itchy_rash_a...

http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH/WSI...

Drink plenty of boiled warm water. At this point hygiene is very important, sterilise what u intend to use, ur body is harmed, try to protect it, dont eat junk food, avoid liquor, smoking, take as much care as possible, use heavy oil based creams, something like dove intensive cream, nivea (blue colour tin)aveeno body lotion.. whatever that helps ur finger to slide down, on ur skin

While sitting elevate ur leg on a chair, so that the swelling doesnt increase,

Have a good day|||you really need to get to a doctor right away.|||Is this a sudden occurrence? Have you ever experienced this before?

It may be an allergy; so it is best that you know exactly what triggered your reaction. Irritants can be specific foods, dust mites, pollen, etc.

If you are unable to stop the swelling, best is to see a doctor immediately.|||if i were you i would start taking benadryl, incase it is an allergic reaction. and see a dermatologist ASAP.|||It sounds like a severe allergy reaction, if I were you I'd get my buns into Dr. ASAP.

Sensitive skin?

My legs feel like they are burning, the inside of my thighs, and that do not touch,

there are no rash or red marks. What's going on?|||Sounds like a reaction to either soap, water, or your clothes.

If its soap, you have to change the soap you wash with and use moisturizer after each shower. You should change to something that is fragrance free like Cetaphil. Same goes for the lotion. Either Cetaphil or Eucerine.

If you have municipal water. it could be the chemical additives they use to kill bacteria. It's usually chlorine, and usually at very high levels. If you own your home, you could get a water softener and carbon filter, that would take care of anything that could be irritating your skin. If you rent, you could get a chlorine filter for your shower head. They are usually sold in natural food stores and online.

If it's your laundry soap. You should change to something that is free from dyes, perfumes, and optical brighteners.

I would recommend Seventh Generation brand if you can get it. Some people do do fine with Tide free and clear.

You could also try only wearing cotton clothes and avoiding anything made from wool, cashmier, and man made fibers.|||See your doctor.

Dry skin please help really gettin' me down :(?

I have just recoverd from a rash which i reccon was slapped cheek. The doctor didn't know what it was and gave me antibiotics to take to help clear it up. It cleared up on Friday and is now really itchy and dry. Its all flaking off. He gave me some aqueous cream to have and i have literally pasted it on and its still dry and itchy and sore and erugh!!

Any suggestions?|||how about some almond oil/moisturising lotion|||i get really bad dried skin and the only thing that sorts it out is the good old OIL OF ULAY. my mrs goes mad at me nicking her make up........specially her lipstick.....joke.|||i am afraid you will just have to wait untill it clears up on its own as if the aqueous cream dnt wrk thn i dnt think ne thin will.|||you could try a very gentle facial scrub to remove some of the dead skin - then try breaking a vitamin E capsule and putting the neat oil on it. The aqueous cream WILL eventually do the job though.|||Don't scratch, try apply virgin coconut oil (VCO). Drink plenty of water, and don't exposed it to sun light.|||the aqueous cream is one of the better creams out there, but you only need to use a little ammout. the skin will need tie to heal.|||Oh dear try e 45|||The Italians swear by Olive oil; Sophia Loren the film star, always added a couple of tablespoons to her bath water.

I use it on my cuticles and it keeps them looking good even though I'm a gardener who refuses to wear gloves.

Its cheap, readily available and worth a try before spending a fortune on manufactured skin products.

If you find it doesn't work, you've lost nothing and can then try the many moisturisers on the market.

Just a side comment - I didn't get stretch marks from pregnancies - just rubbed olive oil into my tum every night.|||i have very dry skin on my face, in certain areas.

i am at present using the aqueous cream to help that, what i suggest is that you do not use any soap on your face and just was water, the aqueous cream will wash your face like the soap. i then reapply the cream for the day.

at night i wash my face and put the cream on thicker than the day.

you also have got to remember that dry skin can take a few weeks to clear up.

however, suggest you go and see the doctor again, just make sure that treatment is working.|||recommand Namyang Aloe's Hydrocapture mask !!

Intensive hydration mask provides moisture in a short period of time, especially effective to dry skin caused by external factors such as air conditioning or heating.

One whole bottle in one sheet mask gives the skin intensive treatment of hydration.

Moisture is captured like a magnet by Univera’s unique technology Hydro Capturing Complex. Leaves even the driest skin supple and comfortable.

[Direction] 1-2 times a week, use after Balancing Toner. Place mask to fit face. Leave on face for 10-15 minutes until essence is sufficiently absorbed.

Has anyone used baking soda to treat a diaper rash?

My little girl (6mo) has very sensitive skin. Saturday, we both slept pretty long and when I went to change her, she had a massive poop and she was red as a tomato.

Is baking soda safe? What are some alternatives besides vaseline and a%26amp;d that would help it go away faster?|||It won't treat it but it will work like baby powder. So if your baby has it you need to get some thing that will work to get ride of it there are lots of good stuff. But no baking powder won't make the diaper rash better it will help it no happen when it;s not there.

Home treatment is usually all that is needed for most cases of diaper rash. At the first sign of a diaper rash, try the following steps.

Decrease skin wetness and minimize skin contact with urine and stool.

Change the diaper or incontinence brief frequently, at least 8 times every 24 hours.

Use a superabsorbent disposable diaper.

Gently wash the diaper area with warm water and a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

Do not use any soap unless the area is very soiled. Use only a mild soap if soap is needed.

Do not use "baby wipes" that contain alcohol or propylene glycol to clean the skin while a diaper rash is present. These may burn the skin and spread bacteria on the skin.

You may use a blow-dryer set on warm setting to get the diaper area fully dry on adults. Do not use a blow dryer on babies or small children.

Leave diapers and incontinence briefs off as much as possible.

Protect the healthy skin near the rash with a cream such as Desitin, Diaparene, A%26amp;D Ointment, or zinc oxide. Do not apply the cream to broken skin, because it can slow the healing process.

If you use a disposable product, fold the plastic area away from the body, and do not put the diaper on too tightly. Avoid bulky or many-layered diapers or incontinence briefs.

Avoid using plastic pants until the rash is gone.

Increase fluid intake to make the urine less concentrated. Cranberry juice may be used by adults and children over 12 months of age. Do not use other juices, which may make the urine more irritating to the skin.

If the diaper rash continues without improvement for several days, try the following steps.

Soak in a warm bath for 10 minutes, 3 times a day, if the skin is very raw.

For babies and young children, add 2 Tbsp (30 mL) of baking soda to a baby tub or basin of warm water. Remember, do not bathe a baby until the umbilical cord has fallen off, and never leave a child alone while he or she is in the bath.

Have older children and adults sit in a bathtub with a few inches of warm water or use a sitz bath.

If you use a disposable product, change brands or switch to a cloth product. Try a superabsorbent disposable diaper or brief with absorbent gelling material (AGM), which pulls moisture away from the skin. Some people are less likely to develop a rash with one diapering product than another.

If you use a cloth product, switch to a disposable product. The cloth or the products used to clean the cloth diaper may be contributing to the rash.

If you use cloth and don't want to switch to a disposable product, change detergents.

Rinse diapers or briefs twice when washing.

Use vinegar in the final rinse at a strength of 1 fl oz (29.6 mL) vinegar to 1 gal (3.8 L) of water.

When treating a diaper rash:

Do not use a nonprescription adult vaginal yeast medication on a baby or child. Check with your health professional before using any product designed for an adult on a baby or child.

Do not use baby powder while a rash is present. The powder can build up in the skin creases and hold moisture, allowing the growth of bacteria that may cause infection.

Do not use cornstarch on a rash in the diaper area. Cornstarch also allows bacteria to grow.

Symptoms to Watch For During Home Treatment

Use the Check Your Symptoms section to evaluate your symptoms if any of the following occur during home treatment.

A rash in the diaper area gets worse after 24 hours or does not improve after 48 to 72 hours of home treatment.

A rash in the diaper area looks like a rash on other parts of the body.

White patches appear in the mouth.

Pimples, blisters, open weeping sores, boils, or crusts develop in the diaper area.

Signs of infection develop.

Symptoms become more severe or frequent.

If need more go here|||Go to your local drug store and ask them for Triple Paste it is pretty expensive but seems to be one of the most effective treatments for diaper rash and various other things.|||Baking soda in a nice warm bath with help a lot! Aloe vera is good for cooling the area after. Good luck!|||I have this stuff from walmart called Butt Paste. lol it works and smells pretty good

a%26amp;d does work good too but i also like Balmex daily protective clear ointment. It is really thick and works good.

Just change her a little more often til it clears and reapply generously at each change.|||I would think if she has sensitive skin, the baking soda would be harsh, but corn starch will work and it is gentler.|||Oatmeal based baths work really well. If you don't feel comfortable making this homeade remedy at home then buy something called Aveeno. It has no chemicals and is all natural based. No matter what you use, there is no quick treatment. Her skin will heal before you know it, just be persistent in your treatment.|||Talcum powder is better. Frequent changes help. Baking soda is abrasive.|||I haven't used baking soda, but baby powder works well. Let it air dry for a while, that will help too. By that I mean take her out of the diaper, maybe outside the house for a while until it gets dry.|||Back when my girls were babies I would sprinkle the baking soda right in their bath water. I did not apply it directly to their skin. It seemed to be soothing for them and safe!|||NO!! not baking soda! its caustic and will burn like hell in a moist place like that.

Bathe her, powder her, and leave her diaper off her for a few hours. Double up a blanket a few times, lay it on the floor and let her play there. OR better yet, its warm out, take her outside and let her play naked out there.

Do that a few times a day until it clears. Use powders instead of creams as a preventive measure. creams are treatments for when there is a rash. Powder keeps the moisture and friction away to avoid the rash in the first place.

Air is always always helpful.|||It isn't baking soda they use cornstarch. Lightly dust the baby's bottom with cornstarch. Don't cake it on there and make sure his/hers bottom is completely dry or it will stick|||Two things I've found work better than desitin or A%26amp;D are called Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Cream which you can ask the pharmacist for and they will give it to you from behind the counter without a prescription or Boudreaux' Butt Paste at WalMart. I prefer DR. Smith's and the hospitals use it too, so it must be good. It will clear up redness very quickly. It worked for all of my kids who had such sensitive skin they would get open bleeding areas on their bottoms until I found Dr. Smith's!!|||Baking soda in the bath water...yes....applied to the skin...NO! it would sting. Here are some good old fashioned remedies that work......let the babies bottom air dry a couple of times a day.....use corn starch as a powder--it draws the moisture away from the skin.....try A%26amp;D ointment or good old Destin cream--these creams when applied to completely dry skin, make a barrier that keeps wettness away from the skin....change the babies diaper as often as practicle....is there something in the disposable diaper that is irritating the skin--try a different brand. If all else fails, ask your pediatrician, they can prescribe very effective ointments or creams.|||NO BAKING SODA!! It's true, it will burn like HE**. You should use something gentler, like cornstarch (just sprinkle some like baby powder), or get a baby powder made with cornstarch, just make sure to wash it off with each diaper change and reapply. If the diaper rash persists for more than a couple of days, or reappears more than once every two weeks or so, you should go to your pediatrician. Ask for DESONIDE cream. It works, and is often used in the treatment of excema and skin rashes. :D Good luck.

Weird skin phenomenon?

i used to have a scar on my knee shaped like russia. it disappeared. recently, i developed a rash in the exact shape of my old scar. it is in the exact same shape in the same area. its very bizaree. i was wondering why this is so and if i should be concerned about it. thanks.|||You should be concerned about it and see the doctor. Mght be something really minor but then you will be relaxed once you know the reason.

Severe swallowing problems and lupus?

My doctor thinks I may have lupus- I have had swallowing problems for 4 yrs, on and off clotting issues, migraines, hair loss, joint pain, extreme fatigue, skin rashes, cold spells, and "bulging eye". I'm down to 75 pounds and I can't eat normally- I have to chew my food and spit it out to avoid choking to death on every bite. I am not anorexic or bulimic- I'm always hungry !! I can't work or live a normal life and my doc has ordered blood tests (12 of them) that are all related to lupus) My mom had it and she also had one of the worst cases of R/A in the country.

Does anyone else have these symptoms? and how do you cope?

I'm 42 and hoping to reach 43.|||Hi, I'm a lupus patient and I know almost exactly what you're going through. I am so sorry!!I am also very sorry for your mom.

Are you seeking help through a Rheumatologist?

I am also very cold and have a hard time swallowing. For the longest time, they thought I had an eating disorder, too, until they found out that I am a Celiac patient - which is also an auto immune disorder. If you cannot chew, please find a way to drink some nutrition. You need to feed your body something or you really will not make it to 43. Know that you are cared about.

I am constantly in pain and it hurts to sit, stand and even lie down. Tired doesn't even begin to describe the fatigue. This, unfortunately, comes with the territory. Your doctor will have to help you address this. I pray that he/she can.

Lupus has many overlapping disorders. IF you do come back positive for lupus, please don't panic. Know that there are over a million people out there like you and I. Most probably many more that they haven't identified.

I know that you know the medicines have side effects and you already feel crappy. Stay out of the UV light, don't eat alfalfa, get rest, listen to your good Rheumatologist and read as much as you can on autoimmune disease.

We are here for you...please don't hesitate to write.

We take one day at a time and it hurts and we struggle, but laugh, cry and talk and write each other through it all.

Good luck and take care. We wish you the best for you and your family.

HELP..I have a rash on my rod, its greenish puss with redish black bumps?

I am scared and my Doctor said he cant see me until next week. I spread on my rod and under my sack. Sometimes when I change underwear there is green puss stuff on them.

Sorry for gross detail but I am starting to get worried. Oh and skin it starting to peel just a tad around bumps.|||Definitely some type of STD. If your doctor can't see you, go to a clinic ASAP. Green puss could also be a sign of a bad infection.|||sounds like an STD, better get yourself to the doctor quick.|||If you can't go do your Doc until next week, go to a free health clinic. Your symptoms sounds like some sort of infection since there is a sign of puss. Any fever? Keep the area dry. Clean with soap and water, splash with peroxide, allow to air dry.|||Have you told yoor doctor that its urgent? I would say to ring up your local GUM clinic and they should usually be able to get you in the next day, if not the day you call in. You should get an idea there and then on what could be wrong and its all strictly confidential.

I wouldn't wait until next week to see the doctor though, at that rate you could be all cleared up by then. I would say that it is definatly an infection so avoid any sexual activity, and try not to mess with it (hard for men I know) as you could just spread it further.

Hope everything goes ok x

A certain type of rash or allergic reaction? It starts at night and mostly goes away during day, ideas ???

The problem is that I have some sort of skin thing happening, it almost looks like poison oak, but I have had that and I don't remember it, for the most part, almost going completely away during the day and then all of a sudden, just starting sometime at night around 11 or so. The first night, (two nights ago), it all of a sudden just started happening. The symptoms are random itchy bumps and what looks like clusters of them on different parts of my body. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I am starting to lean torwards a mild allergic reaction, but to this supplement that I started taking a couple weeks ago, do some allergic reactions take time and then just become apparent? It would make sense to me but I am not a doctor. I thought perhaps it was detergent, but that doesen't seem to be it, along with maybe a fungus on the blanket or something else, but that just doesen't work out right. I am not ruling it out, but I can't figure out why it happens bad at night!|||Sine you tried a different detergent, and that did not work.

It could be your pillows....buy new ones.

My daughter had the same thing...with Down goose feather

pillows.|||Hi there poor you.Is it all over your body or in certain places? It could be a reaction to dust mites in your mattress, an allergy developing to feathers (perhaps in your pillows or Duvet) or eczema - mine only gets bad late at night. Good luck with your detective work.|||This could be an allergic reaction to the type of laundry detergent used on your sheets, blankets, etcetera. I could also be from dust mites. they make special items for people with allergies, special pillows and coverings. You may want to purchase some Dreft detergent and rewash your bedding and see if this works. Also, don't use fabric softener sheets.|||It sounds more like hives then anything else. I get hives at night when I am too warm. They are large, raised bumps that itch like crazy. Try taking some benadryl before going to sleep and see if that helps.

How to avoid a rash from the gym?

I go to the gym 4-5 times a week - I have developed red and dry skin just below my arms and on my butt. Is it to do with my choice of workout gear? Are there better alternatives to wear when working out hard?|||Try an anti fungal powder which you can get at any drug store or even at walmart in the pharmacy area. It could be fungus or could just be irritated from sweat. You can also spray or apply deodorant to those spots before working out to keep the areas from getting wet. Be sure to cleanse the rash and apply a nice thick layer of moisturizer at night and in the morning when you are not working out. Do not itch the area because if it is fungus it can spread. You can ask anyone that works at the pharmacy where you might fight these products. They are usually by the shoe pads and shoe odor spray sections in the health care isles.|||yes it might be caused by your choice of workout wear. stick with cotton, they allow skin to breath easily. also remember to changeyour gym clothes after every workout so that bacteria would not acumulate and irritate your skin. use a bit of aloe gel on the red areas to treat the itchiness and redness.|||Perhaps your clothes are creating friction against your skin? The wrong clothes can be irritating to skin. Try loose fitting cotton for your work out gear. Another possibility of the origin of the rash is heat rash. When you sweat, your skin can develop red bumps and even become itchy. If it doesn't go away soon, I'd recommend you make an appointment to see a dermatologist!|||There could be many reasons - make sure you wipe down the seats and equipment parts your be handling with a disinfectant towel before and after you use the equipment.

Make sure you shower properly after you workout and not left the sweat dry on your skin.

Wear light looser breathable clothing or try climacool or body armor gear. Remember if you're going to the gym you're going there to workout for you and your health -it isnt a dating service - so dress comfortably not necessarily tight and sexy.

Make sure you change and wash your gym wear at least every 2 workouts.

Have the rash below your arms checked by your pharmacist and ask if they could recomend somthing to help you.

My dog and a rash?

I've seen a lot of red skin and blotches on my dogs neck. It doesn't seem to bother her but it looks really red, and possibly has a small amount of puss. I don't know what it is can anybody help me?|||Have you put anything on the dog, like flea treatment or a flea collar? Dog's don't really express their discomfort until it is really bad so you should get it looked at by a vet even though it doesn't seem to be bothering the dog. Without seeing it, my first thought is an allergic reaction or mange, but it could be a lot of things.|||Probably an allergic reaction, have you changed food or collars or taken her some place new, has a bug bit her? If there is pus it is infected, VERY dangerous, especially around the neck. better get her to the vet.|||Might be mange or lyme disease. Get your dog to a vet straightaway.|||Take her to the vet. It might just be an allergy, but get it checked out ASAP

My 71/2 yr old daughter has a raised pimple like rash on arms and legs.?

Benadryl helps with itching, but bumps are stull there. She has dry skin and we have been using cetaphly lotion. She mistakenly rubbed bodywash in thinking it was lotion the night before last, last night after she put lotion on her skin was red and the bumps were flesh colored, a little while later, skin around bumps was red. I don't know if I need to take her to doctor or not. Someone said it looked like 5ths disease, but from the research I've done, it doesn't add up. Any help is appreciated. Thank you|||go to a doctor. it could be an allergic reaction from teh body wash. but the case before that sounds like something i have never heard of. just go to a doctor becuase i am sure they will know and will able to give ur daughter a medicine that will help effectively.|||I don't know anything about this, but I have used this link when I have had similar questions:

http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/T082900...|||I think that your doctor is the best one to diagnose and treat this|||I had small red bumps that wouldn't go away until I used Dial Antibacterial Soap for a week. Then, they went away. Your case sounds different, but it's worth a try. Sometimes, different soaps can irritate fair skin. Dial works good for that, too. The yellow bar.|||It might be due to a yeast infection (candida albicans). If you get some anti-fungal cream and try it on an area, and it helps, this indeed may be the problem.

If this works, check out the yeast link at www.hufa.org for more info.

Diabetes?Do I have it? Help?

I am thinking I may have diabetes. I started having the following symptoms (skin rashes, frequent urination, hungry all the time, extremely thirsty, numbness and tingling in hands) for last 3 months %26amp; ignored them (because I had them on and off for last several years), now things are getting worse (seemed like my kidneys’re hurting?), so I am going to find a doctor (I live in a very small town with a few docs, %26amp; mine left about 6 months ago)%26amp; make appointment as soon as I can (I made some calls on Fri %26amp; found out a doc with the earliest open date is little over a month).

I should mention, me, my family %26amp; friends we all are so blessed to live healthy. So I did not know anything about diabetes until I checked out some excellent websites. Has any of you experienced cracked upper lips and rashes on both upper and lower eyelids and they seemed flair up on every other day %26amp; get so itchy and scaly? I am just wondering if these particular problems are part of the diabetes symptoms?|||Dear "possible diabetic",

Your symptoms point to diabetes. The hallmark symptoms (the triad: increased urination, increased thirst, increased hunger) are most likely due to diabetes, however, without proper diagnosis it is impossible to say that is definitely what you have. It is imperative that you make an appointment with ANY doctor or primary care provider to further assess your situation.

If it is in fact diabetes, and you are not keeping tight glycemic control, it is likely you will develop other complications. This may be the reason for why you are experiencing dry skin and skin rashes. Below I've included a link to a site that lists the many skin infections and rashes that are commonly experienced by diabetics. If diabetes is left untreated it can lead to more serious complications such as vision problems/blindness, cardiac complications, and circulation deficits (particularly to your limbs, which may lead to a necessary amputation.)

Good luck with everything.

Stay healthy.

Kari, RN|||yes you seem to have some of the diabetetic symptoms. my husband, and several of my family members have diabetes. Yes it do work on your kidneys, heart, etc.it will give you dry skin. you should go to the doctor he will give you a blood test to see if it is diabetes. don't be afraid if you have it it can be controlled with meds. and diet. the main thing is to find out if you have it so you can get treated. I hope this answer helps. I believe everything will work out good for you.Just continue to trust God.|||You do seem to have some diabetic symptoms. Measure your waist line, if it is over 30 inches, you may want to get a doctor straight away. If diabetes runs in your family, it could increase the risk of you getting it. The best thing is to look up on the internet the exact symptoms of diabetes (they usually tell you how you can tell if you have diabetes) and if any of them occur to you, then consult your doctor ASAP.Good luck and i hope for the best!! xxx|||get urself checked, (blood drawn), because those are symptomes of 1. diabetes, and 2. lukemia. GOOD LUCK COMRADE|||All of the above can be symptoms and complications of diabetes. Styes and skin problems are very common with diabetes.

Get a fasting glucose tolerance test done, and also an HbA1c. Then you will know for sure one way or the other.

In the meantime, drink 7 to 8 glasses of plain water a day, because its your bodies way of getting rid of excess sugar when you are diabetic. Drinking too much water can cause an electrolyte imbalance, leading to heart arrythmias, so do NOT overdo it.

Avoid all sugar, fruit and starchy foods such as bread, potatoes, rice and pasta, until you know for sure you are not diabetic.

If you turn out to actually be diabetic, at least you will have cut down the excess carbs until you can get insulin or other treatment.

Ever heard of the South Beach diet? It might be a good place to start.

My Lab has a rash on her stomach. I just ran her for a while and it's real red. How do I treat it?

After running her a while it got real red. What is it and how do I treat it? It looks dry. Can it just be dry skin? Alergic reaction?|||Well to tell you the truth if I was you I would take it to a vet. They can treat it just as well as any body else can do. And for now just don't run with her. treat it well give it only cretain food that are very healthy.|||I'm not entirely sure what could have caused the rash, but for now, you could try to put some antibiotic ointment on in, even better if it's the kind with pain reliever. Take her to the vet to find out for sure what it is and how to fix it.|||~Just go to petsmart or something and get a rash spray it works all the time on my dogs trust me~|||I wouldn't put anything on the rash until you know what caused it. You could make it worse, instead of better.

It sounds like she has an allergy to something. Could just be something outside. Does it seem to bother her?

I doubt if it is dry skin. She would have it on other parts of her body too.

I would call your Vet tomorrow a.m. It is nothing to let go. Whatever is causing it, it is going to make her feel uncomfortable. I doubt that it will go away on its own.|||it depends on the temperature where you are at. if its warmer than normal right now. ( like here it was cold two days ago but for the past two its been in the 70s) then it could just be heat rash. It will go away on its own but you can put some antiitch spray on it if its bothering her.|||my dog has that problem he has an alergic reaction to grass.

i put palmers cocco butter on him

it works for him|||Put neosporin on it I show and do lure coarsing with whippets they get hurt all tha time It works on EVERYTHING|||try to go to wal*mart and look in the dog section and see if they have shampoo for dog rashes|||If it's just happening after she runs,it is probably either a heat type rash,or an allergic reaction to something she comes into contact with.Keep a close eye on it,and if you notice it appearing at any other times,or if it doesn't go away, contact your Vet.

I have a bizzare rash on my hands, any ideas?

it's possible to suddenly become allergic to things you normally use or wear basically over night

Good Luck and head back to your Dr.

STD?? urologist can't diagnose me?

i might have contracted a STD because i noticed multiple skin rashes/sores that itch and sting on the back side on my shaft. i haven't really noticed any rises or bumps, but it is something that doesn't totally go away. the pain comes and goes and can look worse at times, but i always feel discomfort maybe irriation when i adjust or scratch my groin area through my pants. i had a few white discharges, so without being diagnosed i was given levaquin to kill any infection that might be there. i haven't had any discharges really since, but i do have urine drippage upon sitting down or bending over after urination. my penis tends to smell often even though i wash it all the time. i was tested negative for HIV and i believe they tested for syphillis at that time too although unsure. urologist can't tell if it is or isn't herpes, because the rashes/sores change very slightly in appearance from time to time, but does hurt worse at times. UTIS were ruled out and im gonna see a Dermatologist|||Consult a Dermatologist or Genito-urinary Medicine (GUM) clinic in your area.|||Herpes usually presents with blisters (vesicles) of clear fluid. They are usually painful. The discharge from the urethra is probably something else although you can have herpes in the urethra which sting alot when you urinate. Tests can be done to diagnose herpes and the treatment is acyclovir, famvir or similar antiviral. It will not cure the infection, but it will ease the symptoms.

My daughters skin is a little dry i tried Johnson's?

and she got a rash tried a sensertive lotion from boots and she got a rash with that.Any ideas for somthing i can use thanks xx|||Sudocrem is really good on rashes and dry skin, or E45 cream|||my boy has excema and his skin was very dry too - i used QV Wash and it helped. Another thing that helped was using OMO Sensitive washing powder on the clothes as it has less additives, and avoid using the tumble drier for her clothes. Sunlight is the best.|||try a sorbelene cream. You can also use it in her bath instead of soap.|||My daughters skin is sensitive too and she used to get a rash with Johnsons products. Try baby oil when she's just come out of the bath. If applied while the skin is still wet it seals all the moisture in. I found this worked, hope this helps.

Or maybe try Oilatum in the bath?|||Try olive oil , just a little though.|||my daughter used to get rash with johnsons too. I used Lipikar as a wash and a lotion and it works really well|||Hi i cant use any johnsons products on my baby i found that infacare was the best smells lovely too try it it works|||My 18month old has always had really dry skin, sometimes flaring into ecsma that hangs around for months.

I don't use any johnsons stuff, even their sensitivfe stuff doesn't work. I don't use any soap in the bath, just letting here soak in water gets her very clean.

My GP precribes her E45 emoliant cream. Not the E45 lotion in a little bottle, but the thick stuff in a tub with a pump. I put it on her twice a day, and it does the trick. You don't need a prescription for it, but it costs £7 - £9 over the counter if you pay for it.

A little secret, I have started using a tiny dab of the stuff on my face instead of my £30 moisturisers, and it works brilliantly.|||As a mum and aromatherapist I would recommend Jojoba oil It is expensive but so worth it .Brilliant for baby massage .. Can you get Pawpaw ointment where you are ?...an Aussie product... its a good barrier also . Its always good to keep away from products derived from mineral oils especially for babies lots of people have a sensitivity to petrochemicals

A European product that is baby friendly is a cream called Camoderm I think its german ...Weleda also have very gentle products for mothers and babies.. A bit of a range for you to choose from!!!!|||I am from India, would like to suggest you one Indian procedure for that. As the child is very small it is even prescribed and suggested by Doc.s that she should be given massage at least 2-3 times a day till the age of 2 yrs. It makes the bone and muscles strong and gives extra relief to the children to have sound sleep. Thus prevents your child from developing irritating habits.

Take 50gm of mustard oil and heat it in a small container to fumes and add few garlic cloves and allow it to cool. If you are from western country you can add small amount of azwaine(hindi name) to it while heating.

This oil could be used to massage the small child and after massage give her bath using soft baby soap. Make her dry and use baby powder and other cosmetic's that you use for the child and breast feed her to have a sound sleep.

Note: You have to take more careful of yourself as you are breast feeding the child, any ill health of you would pass on to the baby.|||E45 or aquious (sorry spelling) cream is great there are not as much chemicals in them.|||she could be allergic to a chemical in all those things ask her ped; or try aveno oatmeal bath we use that in my home for my little one who has dry skin also|||Alas, we are exposing our children to too many chemicals too early in their lives. Try not to use any lotions, preparations for the first 12 months. Research has shown that in some cases, too early exposure to such substances can make them develop allergies immediately or later in life.

Use water to wash and dry thoroughly and try not to wrap her up too tightly, too much. Clothes can cause friction and retain damp leading to rashes. Let her romp occasionally 'au naturale' and her natural oils and fresh air should dry out the rashes. As long as they are not infected, they will heal. If they are, see your GP. Don't over medicate when they are very young.|||Avon's Silicone Glove works GREAT|||try plain vaseline (not the baby kind, it is scented). My daughter gets dry patches during the winter that look like painful to me! But she is only two and doesn't seem to notice them. Anyhow, I put a small amount of vaseline or other mineral ointment and that always relieves the redness and within a few days will clear the spot.

Also, put oatmeal in the tub water, or find a baby wash that she is comfortable with that contains oatmeal. Johnson's and Aveno both make on that works well for my girls.

best to you and your daughter!|||AVEENO, you can get creams, lotions, bath oil, it is available over the counter, but i went to the doctors and now i get them on prescription, my daughter suffers from dry skin and eczema, we tried many different moisturisers but this has proved to be the best by far.|||go see your health visitor and ask for aqeous cream it works a treat|||AQUEOUS CREAM

It is water based and you just apply all over and can use it in the bath.|||Seems like she has very sensitive skin and would be better of with something prescribed by your GP or HV. There is no point in trying other of the shelf creams as they most likely have similar ingrediants.

Either that or good old olive oil!! Messy but works a treat!|||my daughter has eczma I use the simple range plus aquos cream which can be used in the bath or just as a cream if it is bad I would take to your docters who will give you medicated stuff but I would stop using all johnsons products|||my baby was born 10 days late and she had very dry patches of skin. my midwife and health visitor said to use a tiny bit of olive oil, leave on for an hour or two then give your baby her normal bath. my baby's skin was beautiful after a week. might take longer though if baby's skin is really bad. good luck! : )|||Sudocrem, olive oil or almond oil work a treat :)|||hi i agree with lorraine d, my little one use to have dry patches as a baby and the doctor prescribed AQUEOS cream it comes in a huge tub and worked wonders on my daughter, like i said the doctor can prescribe it or boots sell it also, hope it helps, bc|||oilatum bath oil and aveeno cream. both my kids had seriously bad skin. these two products used every day cleared them up quickly and you can get them on prescription or over the counter.|||silkcocks base is fantastic, thers nothing in it,its a base for creams but ill guarentee youll swear by it,great 4 nappy rash 2,youll get it in the chemist and its cheap as well, hope that helps

Skin Problems?

A few weeks back I had a purplish/pink, dime size rash break out beside my lip. At first my mom thought it was a cold sore, and I've been putting a cream on it. But its not working.

And today, I broke out with the same thing on my nose.

What could this be?|||1. allergic reaction to food or medication

2. allergic reaction to cosmetics

Skin Problem!!!???

I have his red rash like thing on my arms, it sorta looks like razor burn. But i dont shave my arms so that cant be it. its also not exama. I have been to two different demitoligists and they both say there is nothing i can do for it. I know there has to be something to help with. since it is getting warmer i am wearing short sleves and tank tops and this thing on my arm makes me feel very bad about myself. If there is aything you can suggest please tell me|||It's called keratosis polaris ... it's a very common genetic condition affecting an estimated 40 to 50% of the adult population and approximately 50 to 80% of all adolescents. It is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin and referred to as "chicken skin". It most often appears on the back and outer sides of the upper arms and can also occur on the thighs and tops of legs, flanks and buttocks.

It occurs as excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin, accumulates within the hair follicles forming hard plugs. Though people with keratosis pilaris experience this condition year round, it’s during the colder months when moisture levels in the air are lower that the problem can become exacerbated and the “goose bumps” are apt to look and feel more pronounced in color and texture.

There is currently no known cure however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. The condition often improves with age and can even disappear completely in adulthood, though some will show signs of keratosis pilaris for life. Treatments are largely symptomatic and must be repeated. Regardless, exfoliation, intensive moisturizing cremes, lac-hydrin, Retin A and medicated lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids or urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. Milk baths may provide some cosmetic improvement due to the lactic acid — a natural alpha hydroxy acid in milk. Sunlight may also be helpful but increases risk of skin cancer. Small amounts of vitamin A can be used orally but only with exteme caution due to potential for liver damage. Check with a Dermatologist or Family Doctor before taking extra vitamin A due to the vitamins' potential toxic effects.

Scratching and picking at the bumps causes them to redden (if they do not already appear red), and in many cases will cause bleeding. Excessive picking can lead to scarring. Wearing clothing that is looser around the affected areas can also help reduce the marks, as constant chafing from clothing (such as tight fitting jeans) is similar to repeatedly scratching the bumps.

Food allergies may also exacerbate the condition, causing hyper-keratosis pilaris, gluten being a common culprit.|||try microdermabration. you know those rotating brushes.|||Maybe its an allergy? Or maybe it is acne, use a loofah to scrub and open the pores, sit in the tub, moisturize, ... basically treat that skin nicely! Try it for a week and see if it helps.|||That sounds like Keratosis pilaris(kara-toe-sis pill-air-is) a condition in which the skin exhibits redness ans irritation in patch-like patterns, accompanied by a rough texture and small pinpoint papules. It's a oil gland disorder,MOST doctors have been successful in treating it by glycolic or lactic acid solutions. Make sure you talk to a good dermatologist about it ans not try doing a treatment yourself.|||Sounds like keratosis pilaris to me.

Red spot on chest and clearasil made it rash?

I thought i had a zit on my chest and put clearasil on it for two nights and now i have like 3 pin size little bumps near it and it itches. was this a allergic reaction to the clearasil? will aveeno lotion be ok to put on it since it is my breast and the skin is so sensitive there?|||Most likely it was an allergic reaction to the clearasil, but you should check with your doctor before putting anything else on it, keep it clean and dry, no lotions or perfumes, that might aggravate it even more, The doctor can prescribe some anitbiotics. Only they know what that so called zit might really be!!! Be careful and pay attention to it!!! Let him know of any changes in color or size and if it is painful!!!|||Try washing it first with basic soap, such as Ivory. Don't put anything on it until you wash it. If it still itches, try something like Benedryl lotion, which will help with the itching and also help with the rash.

If it says longer than a week, make an appointment with a dr. or dermotologist who can prescribe a prescription if it is a rash.

Help with my nine-month old's facial rash??

Thanks for reading. Several weeks ago, my baby developed a small, round, red rough patch of skin on her face. I tried using several things to get it to go down, but it kept getting worse. Recently it spread to her cheeks and became crusty %26amp; inflamed. I took her to the first doctor, who said it was a bacterial infection %26amp; prescribed oral antibiotics %26amp; cream. The next day it was worse, so I took her to another doctor who said it was eczema %26amp; to use a moisturiser. The next morning she woke up and her eye was swollen %26amp; red, so I took her to a third doctor, who said it was school sores (which it isn't). He said to stop the antibiotics %26amp; use steriod cream. He suggested oral steriods if the cream didn't work %26amp; since a cream wouldn't help the eye, I asked for the oral, which seems to help temporarily. My question is, what is it really and what causes it to flare up? I just think it's getting better and then out of nowhere, it flares up again! No doctor can tell me what's causing it!|||Is it around her mouth? It sounds like a "drool rash." My son gets it when he is cutting new teeth. It is no big deal. When he was young, a dab of hydrocortisone helped a lot, but now he is old enough to stick his tongue out and lick, I am afraid to use that. I use a little petrolem jelly (vaseline or aquaphor) to form a moisture barrier, especially when he sleeps. Try to keep any drool wiped during the day. I know it's hard. If it is a drool rash, it'll go away when the teeth come in.|||It sounds exactly like eczema, and she will just have to outgrow it, and might not ever outgrow it. There is a little girl in my son's class I've known for years that has it bad on her face and she is now 6.

Sorry i'm not much help!|||Go back to the basics, baby soap and water. For the time being, do not touch her face and no kisses on the face, kiss her behind her ears :) Try this for a few days and see if there is any improvement. I've also used A%26amp;D ointment on my son's face, a very very small amount (the clear / not the white kind).|||I'm not a doctor, and I haven't seen the rash but it sounds like eczema to me. My daughter gets it all over her body in the winter months. Good luck with it. I know how uncomfortable she is when it flares up. My daughters doctor gave us a cream that is very expensive but works like magic. Of course you wouldn't want to use it aroung the eyes, it's probable the cream your doc offered.|||Do thesbumps have white heads in them. If they do it might be a staph infection. I think if I were you I would go to a skin specialist and see what they say. Hope that things work out for you.|||I was going to suggest that maybe it was an allergy to dairy. Have you changed her formula recently or just started her on formula? Are you making her food with cows milk? The other possibility is has the brand of formula you usually use changed anything? phone the customer service number on the can and ask? Sorry cant diagnose the problem for you but merley help with finding out what could be causing it. Good Luck in solving this, I hope she gets better soon.

How can you tell if a poison ivy rash is healing or not?

I know w/ any skin irritation, there are usually stages that it may go through before it is gone. I've had poison ivy for a little over a week now and it has changed somewhat in appearance but isn't spreading much. I read somewhere it gets uglier the more it heals? Is this true and what ARE some signs that it is going away rather than getting worse. I really can't tell!|||Take RHUS TOX 30 its made out of Poison Ivy and by the Law of Similars (HOMEOPATHY) it will cure you so fast you will be amazed :-)

Take care and God Bless you

Follow the link to read about RHUS TOX and Homeopathy :-)|||I don't know but dump as much calamine lotion on it as possible - this really helps!!|||It will start drying up and the puss will stop.|||well, it should shrink somewhat in size and by ugly they probably mean that it gets dry and crusty when it is healing...so that is a good sign although it looks bad. Plus it should itch a lot less.|||use tea tree oil. you can buy it at any health store for ok price and just put some on your poisin ivy everyday. tea tree is a natural oil. (essential oils like lavender work well to to enhance healing)

im dont get rashes like poisin ivy, but my friends are very health conscious and this works actully. works on acne too. umm, i hope that helps..all you can do is try..although it sounds like its healing well. im sorry i dont know any signs for it getting worse, though. hope this helps you some.|||The simplest and most accurate way to tell if your poison ivy rash is healing is whether or not it is still itching. The itching will begin to lessen as the rash begins to heal. Do be careful, as poison ivy actually gets into the bloodstream, and where you casually scratch someplace else could cause an eruption (poison ivy is not spready by touching it). If OTC calamine and an anti-itch lotions and creams, and washing with oatmeal soap are not controlling the itching, or you find other spots of rash popping up, it would behoove you to see a doctor and get some medication which will clear it up in a couple of days, with relief felt almost immediately. Poison ivy should be dealt with as quickly as possible as where the rash has been can make the skin more sensitive to sun for some time after, and even leave scarring on some people. For your future reference, Tech-nu makes two products for poison ivy and oak; one is a pre-application that prevents the rash from developing, and one is a wash that will prevent the rash if the poison ivy is treated within 20 minutes of contact (generally available in garden and hardware stores and the like.|||My boys have poison ivey a lot. There is a product called technu to wash all your clothes in the get rid of the residue. For you, take a bath with alchohol. Don't use a wash rag as this spreads it. Just tince off with the alcohol. There is a product called ivarest that is really excellent in drying up the rash. When it gets all crusty and stops oozing it is healing. This can be a real nasty rash is not takin care of properly.

Skin Problems?

I have this rash where my armpits are. It itches and burns. It went away for like three weeks then it came back during the beginning of last week. It is a dark pink color but doesn't have clearly defined edges. I have used benedral medication. Benedral topical lotions seems to help for a very short period. Have tried calamine lotions doesn't even help. I used antifungal lotion for two weeks didn't seem to do anything. Then I stopped using a deodarant I was using and then it went away for a short period. Then it came back even though I am not using the deodrant. I would go to the doctor but I don't want to wait for the oppointed and just have it go away. Plus I am a college student. I have a boyfriend but I am not sure if I should tell him about it or not I don't know how he would take it. I don't think it is spreadable because nobody that I live with has got it. Can anyone offer me any help.|||You need to see your GP. Make an appointment .|||There are a lot of possibilities. Do you shave under your arms? If so notice when you are shaving and if it corresponds to the time the rash breaks out. If so then the razor is to sharp, or not sharp enough, and you are cutting open the skin which can look like a rash.

Also how much water are you drinking? Since your arm pits are one of the areas where your body excretes toxins it could be that there is not enough sweet to purge out the toxins. The general rule for water is take your weight, divide it by 50 pounds and multiply that times 1 1/2 quarts of water. That is the target water intake a day. Start slowly though, and work your way up to it. Consider cutting out fatty foods ~ because they can cause your pores to clog, as well as acid food until your rash clears up. Complex sugar can also be cut out. Your body could be out of balance.

Call your doctors office and see if they have any ideas.|||Try the following:

*aloe vera gel from the leaf

*full strength tea tree oil

*shea butter, 100% and raw, but try this last

****sounds like dermatitis, excema, psoriasis

*take raw garlic internally as it may be a fungus, and drink lots of purified water and eat plain yogurt. You need every type of help from every direction to boost the treatment for this condition.

If you are going to tell me to see a doctor....DON'T BOTHER.|||The chemicals in the SOAP you are using is probably making your condition WORSE…. (read on)

First STOP using commercial skin care! GO ORGANIC or ALL NATURAL. I had rosacea (red blemishes on the cheeks) until I started using TEA TREE OIL organic soap from: www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com ($2.50 a bar). It cleared it up in like a week.... and this was something I battled with for YEARS!!!! You can tell the difference right away (like the first time). It doesn’t even feel like soap. I can’t explain it, it just FEELS good. It works on SO MANY things because it is a NATURAL antifungal, antiseptic : acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, poison ivy, oak and sumac, dandruff, fungal conditions, etc. Just Google TEA TREE OIL to find out its MANY benefits, then get the bar or liquid and start using it. They are very helpful with skin problem questions, they will even design a bar for your skin type based on your skin conditions - now that’s not something you find everyday.... They only charged me like $5 bucks a bar for the custom.

You want/need HANDMADE or hand-milled soap made the old fashion way. If not them, then “someone” else who sells handmade organic. Their soaps has GLYCERIN in them (a natural moisture retainer). In STORE bought soap glycerin is sold for profit and replaced with a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate to add lather which is listed in the encyclopedia as a skin IRRITANT. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, but look it up! This chemical is found in 98% of ALL STORE bought soaps. SCARY, HU? READ THE BACK! (Even the ones claiming to be natural or clean). BUT (and I’m not trying to sell you on them) the soaps at SANDY CREEK SOAP COMPANY are organic, natural AND eco friendly. S%26amp;H is only like a dollar fifty, and I got my order in a few days. If you are on short notice ask for faster shipping. And best of all they are CHEAP! Most eco friendly products are so expensive you can’t AFFORD to save the world. Hope this helped....|||Okay so you want to know what it is but wont go the doctor? Hmmm.

Well what I can tell you is that you have a rash. And what myself and others can tell you is that we dont know what it is.

So it might be a good idea to see your doctor.|||Skin rashes of various types are discussed below.

I have a rash from the stubble from a guy i was with?

his 5:00 shadow really irratated my skin, it might be from the sweat also irritating it. do you know any way of getting rid of this faster.. it's taking days. i've tried luffah and lots of lotion, got an idea?|||Days?? Skin irritation from stubble should not last that long unless he REALLY rubbed you raw. Lay off the loofah--you are only irritating it more. Just keep it clean and dry and it should feel better pretty soon. If not, I would almost wonder if it is not some type of tinea? (fungal infection) If it doesn't go away soon, see a doc.|||maybe aloe or noxzema to soothe it|||It absolutely can take days to go. This is totally normal I'm afraid and there's nothing really you can do about it. As said previously, unfortunately the best thing you can do is simply leave it and resist the temptation to play with it/douse it in ointment. Drying it out is the most effective way of getting rid of it as quick as possible.

Son had odd rash?

whenever he scratches himself, the skin swells up in to blotches, almost resembling mosquito bites. I made him a dermatologist appt. but its not for 3 weeks. He's only 9, and this has been happening since the summer, whenever a spot itches he scratches, and then it puffs.|||Have you called the nurse at your pediatrician's office? She might save you an expensive derm visit.|||My sister had this as a kid, and still gets it. She only gets it in the sweaty parts of her body, in the arm pit, behind her knees and elbows. It's called a heat rash and it is extremely itchy, gets really red and blotchy. Her kids have a similar rash but the doctor says it's eczema.

I have a rash or something on the side of my foot, its red and thick dry and scaly. what is it?

its not bumpy but like thick dry skin along the side of my foot. ive tried desenex in case it was some form of athletes foot but that hasnt helped. What can i use to cure it? it doesnt hurt but im scared it will spread even more and its gross. im trying not to go spend $80 at the doctors. Thanks.|||hey.. if it itches, i think it may be eczima, this is just dry skin. first, stop using your athlete's foot ointment, b/c that dries out skin, it has probably made it worse already. next, make sure you keep it moisturized with aloe of some sort of thicker cream. also, whether it is eczima or just a allergic reaction, or a skin rash, it would be worth getting some aveano products. they are very good. i reccomend a moisturizing lotion and the oatmeal bath, in which you can bathe your foot. try to avoid any soaps or gels and keep it out of the sun. if it gets worse, then go and see a MD.

Best of luck...|||how the fu*k would we know? go to the doctor, for crap's sake!|||go get a pedicure|||I would highly recommend seeing a dermatologist as they know more about it than the people on here.|||could be psoriasis. have it checked!|||Don't be put off by rude people. It is best if you can get to a Dr. but if you can't, do a search for psoriasis and find a picture of it.

Then you can search for what will help it.

Yes you're guessing but I do understand not having the cash for a Dr. Good luck.

Are you really a dog, cat lover, have you got questions about your pets health.?

Dog allergies are one of the most common conditions affecting dogs. Dog allergies can be very frustrating for both yourself and your dog. The constant itching and scratching, paw licking and chewing, skin rashes or chronic ear infections can make life very unpleasant.

For itchy skin, try an oatmeal shampoo bath with cool water - this can ease the itchiest skin. Leave the shampoo on for 10 minutes then rinse well. With the most severe allergies, bathe your pet twice weekly. Also, Calendula ointment (herbal medication) has been successfully used to relieve the itch. Apply a thin coat twice daily to affected areas.

http://uk.360.yahoo.com/sidestepper11|||My dog has no allergies; I am very fortunate! However he is a spoiled boy and eats premium canned and kibble food, plus the tastiest, healthiest, and most expensive treats. Boy he's lucky. :) Thanx for the site though!|||Yeah,

Dogs,

My dog has a sore, and the vet shaved it, and white stuff is pealing from it. its also red.

I have a rash that's purple and it burns. Can you tell me what it is?

Skin Conditions|||My guess is Dermatomyositis.

"Dermatomyositis (DM) affects people of any age or sex, but is found is more women than men. DM is thought to be an autoimmune disease, meaning the body's immune system, which normally fights infections and viruses, does not stop fighting once the infection or virus is gone. The immune system then attacks the body's own normal, healthy tissue through inflammation (IN fluh MAY shun), or swelling.

DM is the easiest type of myositis to diagnose because of the skin rash. The DM rash looks patchy, dusky, and reddish or purple. It is found on the eyelids, cheeks, nose, back, upper chest, elbows, knees and knuckles. Click here to see examples of typical skin symptoms. Some people also have hardened bumps under the skin, called calcinosis (kal si NOH sis). The rash is often seen before muscle weakness is felt. The skin rash and weak muscles are caused by inflammation (IN fluh MAY shun), or swelling, in the blood vessels under the skin and in the muscles, also called vasculitis (vas kyoo LIE tis).

Muscle weakness usually happens over a period of days, weeks or months. Patients who have the skin rash but feel no muscle weakness have amyopathic (a mee yo PATH ik) DM, or DM sine (sin AY) myositis. The weakness begins with muscles that are closest to and within the trunk of the body. Neck, hip, back and shoulder muscles are examples. Some DM patients have muscle pain and difficulty swallowing, or dysphagia (dis FAY je yuh)." (from http://www.myositis.org/about_myositis/f...|||defiantely see your doctor|||sounds like that dreaded burning purple rash|||Only a doctor can tell you what that is, so go and see one rather than asking here.|||Of course not! Anyone who knows what they are talking about would tell you it could be any number of things, and we would need to know more about your medical history to make an accurate diagnosis. (although that comment about "the dreaded purple skin rash" was quite amusing)!

SEE A DERMATOLOGIST!! Good luck.|||Go see your doc or dermatologist. I would....|||That's a question that you should ask your doctor.|||Homeopathic Treatment for Rash :-

1.SULFUR 200

2.RHUS TOX 200

Take Care and God Bless you !|||I think it could be eczema, but i could be wrong I'd say if i had something on me like that I'd ask my doctor about it|||Again, it could be MANY things.. from lupus to dermatitis,,,

You really do need to go and see the doc! Rashes can be symptoms of many more serious things.. or, it could be something easily curable..|||OS Updates:

Babys skin irritated?

i breast feed my 13 week old daugher and when she gets her daily bath i try my best to clean in the creases of her neck- recently i noticed creamy milk i guess in there and i wiped it out with a sensitive wipe and she startd bleeding a little! i putsome a and d on and ive been wiping her more often during the day, but now she developing a horrible rash all around her neck n up the back of her head... i dont know what to think or do. i used disney natural care eczema cream on a previous rash on her face... i just dont want it to get worse and its really hard to get under there shes very defiant! i feel like i am hurting her n she squirms so much... any advie? thanks!|||you can put breast milk on it!! yep, sounds weird but its true! it can cure all sorts of things, like rashes.

.|||Take her to the doctors, It might be something else.|||the creamy stuff could be puss? or some other skin secretion? see a pediatrition right away. it'll only get worse until you get the right meds.|||this sounds strange, but I have chubby kids who get rashes under their neck rolls and armpits and stuff. I put a little boudroxS (sp?) butt paste anywhere that it couldn't get in their mouth and it would clear up in a day or 2, but it will stain light colored clothing|||if it gets worse she may need a prescription ointment. Also try using BAG BALM. it is made for cow utters, but i will tell you what, it clears my son's diaper rash and any other rash he has had in mere hours. My sister bought me it, and she used to use it on her kids. it is amazing, and you can get it at a local grocery store.|||Sounds as if she may have a little yeast on her skin. Talk to her doc.

A yeast ("monilia") infection can show up in different ways. On the tongue, it is called thrush and looks like dried milk which, unlike milk, cannot be scraped off. In the diaper area, yeast looks like an intense red rash, often with smaller bumps around the edges. Yeast loves moist, dark areas, so you'll find it in the creases of the thighs (unlike an irritation rash in which the creases are spared from the rash).Yeast is treated with anti-yeast liquid medicine (for thrush) or cream (for the diaper area).

I have a rash near my scrotum, I'm not sure if it's shingles. It secretes a yellow-red fluid. WTF?

It looked like razor burn, or ingrown hairs at first. It started itching, then the skin went raw. It started after I used Tucks cream for the first time, but I don't believe it is an allergic reaction. Everything kind of went south down there at once. I developed hemorrhoids out of nowhere, that sort of traumatized me. The stress could have very easily brought on shingles. I have had chicken-pox so I can get shingles. I am a male, 31 years old, extremely casual smoker (about 4 days a week, 4 cigarettes a day), I don't drink. I eat healthy but I don't exercise, though I am mobile and thin (6'0 155 lbs). I've had this problem with my groin for a few weeks now. Does anyone have any answers? This is hell over here.|||Dude you'd better see a Dr..........and quick.....|||i think you need to see a DR. asap|||hemmorrhoids have nothing to do with this, that is diet.

i would see a doctor, and keep it dry and clean until then|||you need to go and see a doctore or go to the er that sound really bad go get it check it is some kind of rash|||Sounds like you need t osee a doctor. It doesn't sound like Shingles. Herpes Zoster (shingles) does come to those who have had chicken pox...it is the same virus. If this is the first time you have had Herpes Zoster, you would be in excruciating pain. The rash is a grouping of blisters that spread daily along the nerve. Only you can judge how much pain you are in. Don't count out the allergy issue with relation to the Tucks...you might be allergic or highly sensitive to the product. I really think you have gotten to the point of being extremely uncomfortable, and most of the home remedies aren't going to work for you. See a doctor. If you do have Herpes Zoster, you need to be on an antiviral. Best of luck to you!|||It sounds like Jock itch. Athletes foot, jock itch, ring worm and other things are a fungus.

The drug departments have a section for jock itch. Give it a try. There are sprays and creams.

Try to keep it dry as dampness and heat make it worse.

For the hemorrhoids use a sitz bath. Sit in a luke warm tub with Epsom salts. Every evening for as long a it takes to get them under control.|||not shingles they usually start on your back and are very painful but dont usually leak any fluid. I am guessing allergic reaction, sorry! I know it sucks but go see a DR.

What is this rash?!?

so I believe that I have a bad yeast infection. all the symptoms of one but everytime i treat it over the counter it comes right back. Im going to the doctor about that but...Ive had a slight itch and after the shower i noticed a little red in that area but when i felt, it felt a little raised in that area so i took a look...hard to see so i shaved the area...what i see is very small raised area...not sure if i'd call then "bumps" because when the skin is streched it almost doesnt even look raised. its a striaght line of what looks to be three. its a little red and glossy looking. doest hurt, doesnt ooze, itches in that area a bit. what is this???? herpes??? irriations from a yeast infection? i dont shave so it cant be that...plz lend advice.|||The red bumps could have been irritation from yeast. Best to see a DR just to be sure.

A good book to get to help with these little mysteries of the female body, is "The V book" it goes into detail about many of the things that go on with our bodies.|||crabs maybe? i really have no idea|||Hard to say what it could be, but it shouldn't be ignored or use home remedies on it.

Best that you see a doctor.

I have herpes and it sort of sounds like it, but don't worry if it is, it's not the end of your sex life.|||it could be an std i had a friend who had the same symptoms and she went to the doctors to get tested and coming to find out that she had chlamydia|||what kind of laundry soap do you use?

you could be allergic to this detergent if you switched laundry soap lately.

in fact your allergic condition might not show up in a long time or it could show up in a couple of days. depending upon your system.

The sex fairy?

The Sex Fairy

This is hilarious! Be sure to read the warning at the bottom. I didn't change a word! I'm not messing with the Sex Fairy!

1. Sex is a beauty treatment. Scientific tests find that when women make love they produce amounts of the hormone estrogen, which makes hair shine and skin smooth.

=============

2. Gentle, relaxed lovemaking reduces your chances of suffering dermatitis, skin rashes and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and makes your skin glow .

=============

3. Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled on during that romantic dinner.

=============

4. Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It stretches and tones up just about every muscle in the body. It's more enjoyable than swimming 20 laps, and you don't need special sneakers!

=============

5. Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.

=============

6. The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals called pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the opposite sex crazy!

===========! ==

7 . Sex is the safest tranquilizer in the world. IT IS 10 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VALIUM.

=============

8. Kissing each day will keep the dentist away. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay, preventing plaque build-up.

=============

9. Sex actually relieves headaches. A lovemaking session can release the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.

=============

10. A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.|||that info is so cool, I will keep it all in mind|||No wonder I want sex 24/7!! :D|||What's your question?

#10 is definitely true...however, the effect is short lived... :(

.|||what was the warning.|||I think I read this in an email. Sounds like there's a lot of good in it.|||What's the point you are trying to make, or the question you are trying to ask?

I already know all this stuff you are saying, and more besides.

For instance: did you know that sex (or masturbation) is one of the most effective pain killers? It combats toothache really well.

And also, did you know that sex can make new people?|||Well next time you need a treatment just give doctor chris a call...|||Every bit of it is true, well, except #7 because nothing and I mean NOTHING is better than valium! The rest, we learned about in my Psyc class. Nifty huh?|||where did you get all of this kind of infromation?is this real true?|||i agree 100 %|||Indeed I'm an Olympian in this...lolz

I have a rash on my neck?

the doctor told me it should have been gone but its still here but not really bad it dont hurt r nothing it left a dark spot would it be a bad idea to get a tatto. well its a dark ring and im lite skin what would u do.|||First for the rash use some cortizone 10 cream it is really good for clearing up rashes I get really bad heat rashes and this stuff clears it up within a day for me but wait a bit so that you can give it time to heal fully before getting a tattoo or it may not come out the way you would hope. Good luck

I have a rash on my neck and blotches in my back. They get like really more noticeable when I shower?

Is it dry skin?|||are you a African women? well it really nothing lease you don't have what i have so you should be proud. oh, ya be lucky you don't have Acanthosis Nigricans and as a blk women it ******* suck

PLEASE HELP!!!!! i've been plagued with a red rash all the way around my mouth?

it's from fever blisters that i got around my mouth after being sick almost two months ago. the blisters are gone, but i just can't seem to get rid of the nasty red extremely dry skin that they left behind. it really makes me self-concious. and i've tried a lot of diff. creams. what should i try?|||You should try a visit to your dermatologist. seriously.

I hope this helps. Good luck.|||but some vaseline on it every day and chapstick on your lips|||sounds like exma.. go to the doctors and its easy to treat but may take a long time. x|||PUT SOME VASELINE ON IT AND CHAPSTICK

BUT DONT SHARE YOU MOUTH PRODUCTS WITH ENYBODY!!! CAUSE IF U SHARE YOUR MOUTH PRODUCTS MAYBE THATS WHY YOU HAVE THAT THING.

Itching, burning sensation all over body, no rash...?

Ok, this has been going on almost 3 mths, no relief. Only thing that works is Benadryll at night. Skin biopsy inconclusive, Dermatologist didn't know, had my sons' dr. prescribe scabies lotion just in case, no relief. Took broad-spectrum antibiotic, just in case, no relief. Any ideas?|||If Benadryl worked, then you probably have an allergy to something you've come across. It could be a food allergy or an allergy to a certain fabric. You could also be allergic to your laundry detergent. You can develope allergies at any time. Something that you were not allergic to before, you could now be allergic to. Pay attention to what you eat and keep a food journal. It can help you figure out if it's something you've eaten. The only thing I can tell you is to pay attention to what you eat and wear. It sounds like an allergic reaction to me. Good luck to you.

HIV and my boyfriend: he has severe congestion 24/7..tired..rash..help?

I'm scared.

My boyfriend is constantly congested (allergies) and also has random white spots on his skin.. almost like losing pigment in some small areas. He said he hasn't had these bad of allergies/skin problems all his life.

I know he's had several sex partners before me, and has mentioned he's had unprotected sex with some of them.

Are these symptoms signs of hiv? I want to get tested, and to ask him to, or maybe get tested together, but I'm TERRIFIED!

I need some advice... help....|||The best thing to do is get tested and put your mind at ease. At least you can prepare yourself mentally for the possibility of testing positive, rather than find out during a routine full physical. Even if you do test positive, it's not the end of the world.

Get tested, try not to be afraid, and know that things will be okay, whatever the results. Best of luck to you.|||GET TESTED! Not knowing is far worse than knowing and then taking the steps to remain healthy. I know it is scary and more than likely your boyfriend does not have HIV.The symptoms he is having could be caused by lots of things. Please just go get tested and beg your BF to get tested as well. .|||these symptoms may not be anything but anyone that has had unprotected sex can have hiv--tell him this and get tested|||I suggest that you and you boyfriend get tested right away, as it very much treatable these days and its better to no early than leave it. There is huge amont of help out there as iv just been diagnosed as HIV + in the last two weeks. Id been getting flue after flue it semes for the last six years on and off and had been so enegerless and tired all the time but no rashes but heavly congested in the nose and more allagies.

There is help lines available in the phone books and contact tha AIDS councill can help also.|||I used to constintantly be worried bout this kind of stuff, it could all just be a coincidence, but it wouldnt hurt to get tested.

Dont be terrified either! It will be fine.

HIV has many new treatments and you can live a pretty good full life, its not the death statement anymore, as it once was...

Still, you should use protection, always.

How do you get rid of a rash? [ not a serious one ]?

its gettin better, since i've been well applying lotion on it,to keep the skin nice and moisturized. [ not a doctors recommendation ]

%26amp; i've been sleeping earlier and stuff,i dotn even know if that helps, but yeahh.|||if its because of allergies you should get benadryl or take a oatmeal bath if it itches but i think your doing good by putting lotion on it make sure in unsented that could irritate it rash

good luck!|||Your skin could be very dry

just keep moisturizing...actually u can use Gold Bond...its great for rashes!! hope thys helps :D|||Get rid of the source, don't just cover up the problem with creams, powders and medications.Try finding the source of the rash. If it is caused by something, like laundry detergent for example, it would be best to know that specifically and to simply use a different kind of detergent rather than to medicate the rash itself. I think a dermatologist can determine the source.

Did anyone have a skin problem when coming off the pill?

not a pimple break out but like a rash? eczema? i have this funny looking rash in my inner elbow and every one seems to think its eczema, it started a little after i came off the pill but i can blame the pill for it. its getting bigger and is itchy... anyone?|||i wouldn't say that that is directly the cause of the eczema. usually the drier the air the worse mine gets but when i came off the pill my face, chest, and back all exploded into a haven for wayward pimples! ick! it's going slowly away but still, it's terrible! good luck and talk to your doc about getting some good eczema cream. i like the offbranded anti itch cream personally. oooh, and for some reason tanning lotion seemed to help it too. well tanning too, but i was jonesing for some lotion and had some old stuff in the house and stuck it on there and it seemed to work pretty well.|||Not me. I was on the pill for 4 years and did not have any skin problems. It could be your body's reaction to going off the pill. You really should see a doctor about it.

I have a "rash" i guess. It is really small on my right hand. it looks like a tiny trangle...?

it is about the size of a pencil eraser. it started out skin color and slightly raised but not that noticiable. Now it is red looking (tiny red dots), but still slightly raises. I have no idea what it is. It doesn't itch or bother me at all. It is just there. What could this be? Serious replies only.

Thx|||Might be ringworm. Do you have a cat in the house. If it is, it will spread.

Exposed areas of my skin form what looks like mosquito bites that are rather itchy. Disappears when the area warms up again|||This sounds like cold urticaria. Urticaria is essentially a rash or hives that appear because of various reasons. Cold temperature is one reason. Good luck :-)|||just keep those areas moisturized. domt scratch tht could crack and tear open yer skin|||That is eczema.

read- http://www.doctorgoodskin.com/ds/eczema/|||Living in severe winters back east in Connecticut, I would walk my dogs in the snow, but beforehand put petroleum jelly on my face as a mask, just a little, not cake it on. It always helped protect my skin. I would wash it off later after I warmed up. If you need something to protect your skin while going to work, you need a very rich moisturizing cream before putting your base make up on. There are many varieties out there obtain at any apothecary or department store.
