Scratch Like Rash on Baby's Face?

My 7 mos. old daughter had a briefrash on her face that looked as though she was scratched. It was red and had the marks of being scatched even though noo skin was broken. It went away maybe an hour later. What causes this? It sounds allergic.|||Babies have sharp little finger nails. It sounds like she scratched herself.
