Is this an allergy?

i get an itchy skin rash almost every 2weeks. the doc always prescribes cetrizine for what he considers an allergy and a gel (Eurax) for the itching. I also get very painful swellings on the face which r not acne (tho I used to have acne a few years back) and do not contain pus. They usually go away after about a week leaving a scar (not black head).

Of late (3months) I have been getting light spots on my face which appear for months and sometimes disappear (one has persisted). I also got a scar on my forehead where I never had a wound before. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I stay in a hot and dusty environment.|||I find it odd that it occurs about every two weeks. The hot and dusty environment could explain it, if the rash were chronic, and not every two weeks. You said "the doc". Is this your family doctor or a dermatologist? And it's only on your face? If you haven't seen a dermatologist, that would be my first suggestion. If it is a derm, get a second opinion. Are there any allergy specialists where you live? That could also be an option. But to save money on running to doctors, I personally, would try a good, non irritating cleanser ( like neutrogena)and follow with a mild moisturizer like Ponds for faces. If this doesn't help, continue to pursue it. Some disorders/diseases can cause rashes, such as the typical "butterfly rash". A rash that appears like a butterfly shape across the face, as seen with a systemic immune disorder known a Lupus.|||This website http://www.allergysufferer.info/ offers asthma and allergy relief information. I found it very helpful with my allergy problems.
