Rash in 9 month old ( long with tmi sorry)?

my 9 month old son has been itching his self on his penis (sorry tmi) but only in the tub and i know he is itching because it seems to always be red after his bath and we see him doing it. today after his bath i saw little red dots size of a pin prick all over his penis and the skin above his penis. right know we have been putting a cream given to us by his doctor becuase of red spots above his diaper area 4x a day.

i can't call his doctor until monday and im trying to get ahold of the after hours clinc to ask them.

until monday what can i do or should i do for him, can this be the cause of the diapers (luvs)?

or not changing when he is sleeping and napping? we change every 2hr.|||keep using the cream...is it antibiotic cream or possibly anti fungal cream?? might be a slight yeast infection. Or could just be diaper rash...sounds like you are doing things right. :)|||It could be the soap your using when you give him a bath or it could be the diapers. Have you tried changing brands?|||For now every time he has a diaper change wash his privates. Then apply A%26amp;D ointment. It's the best.|||sounds like reaction to diaper - try alo vera plant= warm water may make it itchier- have you changed soap or creams on him - try a cool compress - the red dots could be from reaction to diaper, soap, or wipes etc. they also could be from him itching sensative areas and popping blodd vessels from scratching - i used to get it from latex, adhesive some soaps and some laundry detergents- hypoalergenic is not always hypoalergenic- try milder gentle chemicals|||keep using whatever the doctor gave you. you could try using a clean, wet, warm washcloth when you change his diaper before putting on the cream. it is possible that this is an irritation from soaps, lotions, powders, diapers or even wipes. after you clean him, i would use just some fresh water to rinse off any leftover chemicals before putting the cream and fresh diaper on just in case. it sounds like you are doing everything right - just make sure you follow doctor's orders! good luck!|||I've heard about this before because i worked in a drug store on vermilion that had a pharmacy inside. But if you can't see the doctor until Monday i would go and ask the pharmacy and tell them that your son has red spots on private part and they can help you find the stuff for the infection and the cream that pharmacy gave you is a anti biotic because it has medication in it so that way it will start to work, but when the doctor's office is open call first thing in the morning because you might be able to get in as a emergency because it can get more infected if he keeps itching it.
