I woke up on Friday with what looked liked a rash on my face from the cheek bone down to my chin area.?

I have not gone to see a derma. specialist but I may have to. The red has gone aways but the skin on my face still feels different. It is dry and chaffing I have never had something like this anyone know what this is or has had?|||I'd say a possible allergic reaction. Maybe a bite and a histamine response. Most other things it could be don't come on that quickly. Go see a doc, doesn't have to be a dermatologist (they are more expensive).|||Go to the doc's!|||could be from irritating it with something. check web md.com|||Did you change Laundry soap? some people react to that.|||Did you eat anything you usually don't? Sounds like an alergy.|||I had that once and I had to use some kind of lotion...chorzone I cant remember the doctor gave it to me so that was good...but i would just go and see if there is something at walmart for rashes.|||Ewww!! Gross!!!!!!!!!!!|||it could be a condition called Rosacea

its quite common|||It might be rosacea. Ask you doc about that. Or maybe contact dermatitis, a reaction to something your face has come in contact with.|||sounds like contact dermatitis, especially if it is only in one particular area. Do you sleep on that side? Did you use different lotion, cream, soap, perfume, sprays, etc.... recently? Were your bedsheets washed in new detergent or new fabric softener or something? Usually if you get some hydrocortisone cream on the rash and that takes it away, it means it was some sort of sensitivity or allergic reaction to something that came in contact with your cheek. Aloe vera is great for skin ailments too, so you can give that a try.|||If the area feels painful or itches like crazy, it could be a case of shingles.

However, since you didn't mention pain/itching, I would say it is probably an allergic reaction, i.e. contact dermatitis. An application of vitamin E may help alleviate the dryness. I would avoid any lotions with lanolin as they might cause an additional reaction.

You may also have a mild form of eczema. Some forms can be treated with over the counter medications, others require a prescription from a dermatologist.

If the skin breaks out again, itches, gets painful, turns red or anything else bothersome, I would seek medical attention.|||sounds like an allergic reaction to something...does it itch? try and think of what you did on friday, or if you were around anything new that you dont normally come in contact with (new beauty product, cleaning product, animal, etc.). if you can pin it to something, go see a doctor and have it tested.

keep the area moisturized; try to exfoliate if it doesn't hurt (use a GENTLE facial cleanser, with no perfumes or dyes %26amp; a washcloth). if it hurts or itches or the red comes back or its spreading, go see the doctor.

sometimes i get little bites that swell outwards to a big red area, then the bite %26amp; redness %26amp; swelling go away and i'm left with a big patch of itchy, flaky dry, dry skin. goes away after a few days of exfoliation %26amp; moisturizing. haven't had it tested or anything (besides for lyme, which was negative), but the doc says its probably a reaction to a certain kind of venom. dont know where you are in the country and what bugs are near you lol, but maybe its the same kind of thing?

edit: wow, i'm slow lol|||Maybe its nothing, but It sounds like it might be an autoimmune disease called lupus, which is sometimes accompanied by what is called a butterfly rash on the face. See your doctor.
