How can you tell if a poison ivy rash is healing or not?

I know w/ any skin irritation, there are usually stages that it may go through before it is gone. I've had poison ivy for a little over a week now and it has changed somewhat in appearance but isn't spreading much. I read somewhere it gets uglier the more it heals? Is this true and what ARE some signs that it is going away rather than getting worse. I really can't tell!|||Take RHUS TOX 30 its made out of Poison Ivy and by the Law of Similars (HOMEOPATHY) it will cure you so fast you will be amazed :-)

Take care and God Bless you

Follow the link to read about RHUS TOX and Homeopathy :-)|||I don't know but dump as much calamine lotion on it as possible - this really helps!!|||It will start drying up and the puss will stop.|||well, it should shrink somewhat in size and by ugly they probably mean that it gets dry and crusty when it is healing...so that is a good sign although it looks bad. Plus it should itch a lot less.|||use tea tree oil. you can buy it at any health store for ok price and just put some on your poisin ivy everyday. tea tree is a natural oil. (essential oils like lavender work well to to enhance healing)

im dont get rashes like poisin ivy, but my friends are very health conscious and this works actully. works on acne too. umm, i hope that helps..all you can do is try..although it sounds like its healing well. im sorry i dont know any signs for it getting worse, though. hope this helps you some.|||The simplest and most accurate way to tell if your poison ivy rash is healing is whether or not it is still itching. The itching will begin to lessen as the rash begins to heal. Do be careful, as poison ivy actually gets into the bloodstream, and where you casually scratch someplace else could cause an eruption (poison ivy is not spready by touching it). If OTC calamine and an anti-itch lotions and creams, and washing with oatmeal soap are not controlling the itching, or you find other spots of rash popping up, it would behoove you to see a doctor and get some medication which will clear it up in a couple of days, with relief felt almost immediately. Poison ivy should be dealt with as quickly as possible as where the rash has been can make the skin more sensitive to sun for some time after, and even leave scarring on some people. For your future reference, Tech-nu makes two products for poison ivy and oak; one is a pre-application that prevents the rash from developing, and one is a wash that will prevent the rash if the poison ivy is treated within 20 minutes of contact (generally available in garden and hardware stores and the like.|||My boys have poison ivey a lot. There is a product called technu to wash all your clothes in the get rid of the residue. For you, take a bath with alchohol. Don't use a wash rag as this spreads it. Just tince off with the alcohol. There is a product called ivarest that is really excellent in drying up the rash. When it gets all crusty and stops oozing it is healing. This can be a real nasty rash is not takin care of properly.
